Synopsis[]

A video from Annika's past comes back to haunt her; Joe and Peach's simmering tension boils over when Peach introduces Beck to a major literary agent.

Plot[]

Joe Goldberg becomes increasingly concerned about Peach Salinger’s influence over Guinevere Beck. Peach organizes a literary salon at Joe’s bookstore, introducing Beck to a prominent literary agent named Roger. However, Joe overhears Peach undermining Beck’s writing abilities to Roger, suggesting that Beck is not ready for professional representation. This incident deepens Joe’s suspicion that Peach is attempting to control Beck’s career and personal life.

Joe discovers that Peach has a collection of photos and information about Beck on her laptop, indicating an obsessive interest. When Peach’s laptop goes missing, she accuses Joe of theft, further escalating tensions. Subsequently, Peach attempts suicide by overdosing on pills, prompting Beck to rush to her aid. Joe suspects that the suicide attempt is a manipulative act to garner Beck’s attention and sympathy.

Later, Joe follows Peach during her morning run in Central Park and assaults her by hitting her on the head with a rock, leaving her unconscious. Believing he has eliminated Peach, Joe returns home, only to find that his neighbor, Paco, has drugged his abusive stepfather, Ron. Joe intervenes to save Ron’s life, but Ron retaliates by physically assaulting Joe. The episode concludes with Joe learning that Peach survived the attack and is recovering in the hospital.
