- In the books, Dottie is an enemy to Joe. When he is out of prison, she and her family would give Joe $4 million and a house in exchange for him to stay away from Love and their new-born child Henry (called Forty in the books).
- After the end of season 3, it is unknown if Dottie was aware of her daughter's death, and the house burning down, as she wasn't seen again.
- It is shown that Dottie still isn't on good terms with her ex-husband.
