Dottie Quinn is a main character in the third season of YOU, after appearing as a recurring character in the second season. She is portrayed by Saffron Burrows.
Biography[]
Dottie is the overbearing mother of Love and Forty Quinn.
Have a Good Wellkend, Joe![]
Dottie and her husband. Ray Quinn, organize a getaway weekend to renew their vows. She meets Joe Goldberg (using the alias Will Bettelheim). Forty recounts to his parents how he and Candace Stone (using the alias Amy Adam) met. Forty complains to Dottie that Ray isn't interested in his life.
Dottie has an intimate conversation with Joe, offering him marijuana to get him to speak candidly. Dottie is impressed by Joe. Later that day, Dottie disapproves of Candace's gleeful reaction to a wolf snapping at Joe. While renewing her vows with Ray, Forty crashes Love's speech, dropping a heroin pipe before being carried away. Dottie insults Love's inability to take care of Forty and is insulted by Love. Dottie slaps Love and she stomps off.
Fear and Loathing in Beverly Hills[]
On the recommendation of her shaman, Dottie invites Love to dinner to make amends. Dottie tells Love that Ray is cheating again, and that the dinner is an attempt to win him back. Love accuses Dottie of covering up the incident with Sofia and of allowing her to continually abuse Forty. An enraged Love leaves.
Dottie follows a drunken Love back to the hotel and helps her recover. Dottie apologizes to Love and compliments her authenticity and strength.
P.I. Joe[]
Dottie is visited by Joe at home and she expresses sadness for Joe's decision to leave LA. Dottie tells Joe that she knows about Forty's confession of killing Sofia. She tells Joe that his secrets are safe with her.

- In the books, Dottie is an enemy to Joe. When he is out of prison, she and her family would give Joe $4 million and a house in exchange for him to stay away from Love and their new-born child Henry (called Forty in the books).
- It is shown that Dottie still isn't on good terms with her ex-husband.
