David Fincher, often referred to solely as Fincher is a character from the second season in the television series YOU. He is portrayed by Danny Vasquez.
Honest, caring, but also jealous and spiteful, David is a hard-working police officer for the Los Angeles Police Department. He was the hookup buddy for Delilah Alves, leading to Fincher developing feelings for her. After Delilah and Joe Goldberg hookup in an alleyway and are arrested for indecent exposure, Fincher refuses to help her out of jealousy. Before Delilah's death, Fincher asks her out over the phone while she is in Joe's glass box. After Delilah's yet-undiscovered death, Fincher takes Ellie Alves in for questioning and refuses to aid Ellie as well. In Love, Actually, Fincher shoots and kills Forty Quinn after witnessing the latter's attempt to murder Joe.

Trivia[]
- In the books, David doesn't actually survive. He is instead killed by Joe, being one of his victims, he also doesn't kill Forty, that was Joe instead.
- Where Fincher was killed was in Mexico. In the second book, Hidden Bodies, Fincher gets a little too close for Joe's comfort with cracking everything he's done. So Joe leads him to Mexico and he murders him. There was no mentioning of Mexico or being seen in the TV series, as the second season, has been set entirely in Los Angeles.
- Fincher serves as the good counterpart of Ron as both of them are cops in a relationship with Joe's respective neighbors.
