Amour Fou is the sixth episode of the first season of You. It is the sixth episode of the series overall. It aired on October 14, 2018 on Lifetime.
Synopsis[]
Beck heads to Connecticut with Peach, whose motives are not what they seem, as Joe's pursuit of her stirs up old memories and new injuries.
Plot[]
The episode begins with Peach recovering from her recent head injury. Joe visits her under the pretense of concern, bringing a “Get Well Soon” balloon. Peach, unaware of Joe’s involvement in her injury, thanks him for warning her about her stalker. She then invites Beck to her family’s estate in Greenwich, Connecticut, for rest and relaxation.
Joe, suspicious of Peach’s intentions, follows them to the estate. He sneaks into the house and hides, observing Peach’s behavior. Peach attempts to deepen her bond with Beck, suggesting a move to Paris together. She also invites a friend, Raj, over, leading to an attempted threesome. Beck, uncomfortable with the situation, leaves the room.
The next morning, Beck confronts Peach about her behavior, accusing her of trying to initiate a romantic relationship. An argument ensues, and Beck decides to leave the estate. After Beck’s departure, Peach discovers Joe hiding in the house. She confronts him with a gun, leading to a struggle during which Joe is shot. Despite his injury, Joe overpowers Peach and kills her, staging the scene to appear as a suicide. He writes a fake suicide note to support this narrative.
Joe returns to New York and seeks medical attention for his gunshot wound from Claudia, Paco’s mother. Later, Beck contacts Joe, informing him of Peach’s death and expressing her grief. She asks Joe to stay with her for comfort, and he agrees.

- The introduction of Raj and the attempted threesome was not in Caroline Kepnes’ original novel and was added to underline Peach’s blurred boundaries and manipulation.
- The episode cements Peach as the second major character Joe kills in the series, escalating the show’s depiction of his capacity for violence.
